This month is a favorite for many and is also a source of pride in communities, as everyone pulls together in showing generosity, kindness and empathy.
This year Belvedere Parkway School has united in supporting our community in a number of ways.
Our Remembrance Day Poppy Fund resulted in a significant amount being donated to our Veterans, as well as $826.90 raised for the Terry Fox Run in September.
Some of our elderly population from Bowness enjoyed the Lion’s Club Christmas dinner with decorations supplied by our students.
We have a number of our families supported during this season through the generosity of our own families and staff, as well as families excited to attend the Firefighters Christmas Party. This is in addition to our Mayors Food Drive. We have also appreciated a generous donation through Bow Cycles of 5 new bicycles to add to our hampers!
Fund raisers including Fun lunches, Fruit Farm Apples, Popcorn and Purdy’s Chocolates have also been supported as well as other acts of kindness from our families to other families within the school!
Our heartfelt thanks to all for these contributions to our school community.
We are pleased to announce our Scholastic Book Fair total sales amounted to $5605.90, including $2188.40 funds raised in books from Scholastic for our Learning Commons! As always, many thanks to Mrs. Bremner our Library Lady for all her hard work involved in our first Book Fair of the year!
Other things going on this month include our ‘Five Days of Festiveness’ taking place in the last week of school before the Winter Break.
We look forward to seeing you at our Winter performances this year. While we are also disappointed in the ticket restrictions this year, please know we are already working on some solutions in preparation for the 2025-2026 performances and trying to accommodate as many families as we can.
We wish you a warm and restful Winter break! Best wishes,
Jane Gibson Principal
