Jolly June!

Here we are again folks, back into beautiful weather and outside activities. We have had such an amazing year!

Students enjoyed many off-site field trips such as the Hangar flight Museum, Granary Road, Telus Spark and the Zoo as well as on-site visitors including our wonderful drumming residency, hatching chicks and ducks, butterflies, and felting – just a few of the activities students engaged in. Our community also enjoyed our fun family night and book fairs, as well as rummaging around our Parent Society garage sale.

We had a bittersweet but amazing Grade six farewell this year, sending off our oldest students into the world for the next chapter in their lives. They are all exceptional young people with so much potential and so much to look forward to! We will miss them!

We could not run such a wonderful program without the support of our Parent volunteers, School Council and Parent Fund-raising Association who put in countless hours for the benefit of ALL our children here. Our school community and staff are very grateful!

We are delighted to have the newly added Gaga pit, and a new basketball hoop to be installed in the North compound coming soon. We have also had a new renovation in the school! This is a ‘soft play’ room to support the needs of our students.

In the last week of August, teachers will be sending out welcome messages to students and their families. Kindergarten families will also receive details of staggered entry procedure at this time. We will also have some classroom and staffing changes which may or may not affect the placement of some children into classes. We have done our very best to accommodate all looping and parent preferences for the new school year. We appreciate your patience as we all navigate these changes together.

On the first day of school students will receive school calendars and other documents which we urge you to read carefully, complete and return to school if needed. We will also be sharing any new staffing updates with you. Please go to our website first for school information and we will also be keeping you updated on any changes or new information in as timely a manner as possible.

Until then, we wish you a restful and fun summer with your loved ones!

Best wishes,

Jane Gibson
