Along with the April snow showers we have enjoyed the warmer weather creeping in to enable us to start going outside for Bowness Park walks and learning. We are beginning to prepare our seedlings ready for Learning Garden planting!
Ms. Gibson and Mrs. Konsmo have continued to run our Dare to Care program as part of Friday assemblies for the whole school and some students enjoyed an optional craft club with Mrs. Safia over lunchtimes to celebrate their culture during Ramadan this year.
Students took part in field trips including Grade 4 going to the Shepard Landfill and Grade 2 Teacher’s Pet enabled students to take part in ‘Coding and Mazes’! KG and Grades 1 and 2 are taking part in different bird hatching programs shortly and field trips coming up include a trip to the Hangar Flight Museum (Grade 6), Calgary Zoo Grade 1 and 2) and Granary Road (Grade 2).
We anticipate a wonderful Orff The Wall concert on Monday at the Jack Singer Concert Hall coming up on Monday April 15!
We said goodbye to one of our Lunchroom Supervisors Mrs. Owens, this month, and welcome Mrs. Wu and Mr. Dewsbury back with us again! We would like to give a huge thank you to Mrs. Konsmo for doing such a great job of Acting Assistant Principal while Mr. Dewsbury was away.
We thank families who completed the School Planning Engagement Survey. The results are posted on our school website under the ‘Our School’ tab.
As we begin our planning for the coming 2024-2025 School Year, please remember to return your intention form for next year. Please ask your child’s teacher if you need another form to complete.
We look forward to a marvelous May, which will include Volunteer Tea during the day on May 29, and our Welcome to Kindergarten Orientation on the same night!
Best wishes,
Jane Gibson
